We created a new annual event with the VA nursing home, Valentine’s pizza with the vets.
The event will be held on February 17 at 11 o’clock am, 5101 Minnehaha Ave, building 19. Parking is limited, so they asked that we carpool. Be prepared for a long walk to the parking. We need approximately 30 volunteers. Volunteers will help our vets get from their rooms to the eating area. Besides serving the vets, we will join them for lunch and spend some quality time with them. St. Paul police and fire will be attending, as will our friends from the Laborers’ Local 563 union. FYI, the union is splitting the cost with us.
This is the same place that Jim Pascoll stayed. It’s a great way to honor him and, at the same time, thank our vets for their service.
There are 300 vets at the nursing home. We will feed 170 on February 17 and the rest on March 18th. We will send out another signup invitation for March 18 after the first event.
Thank you for all you do. As I stated above, we may have to cap the volunteers at 30, so please respond right away. If we turn you away, you will get priority for the second event.
