Dear Members,
Greetings to one and all, and welcome to the 2025 Holiday Season for the Boys Club. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, November 25th, 6 pm at Mancini’s. Our Christmas celebration will be on Monday, December 29th, also at 6 pm at Mancini’s. Please write these dates down. You can make your donation at either meeting or mail it anytime. However, early contributions help us with our planning for Thanksgiving and Christmas spending, the number of families, etc.
Once again, our mission is to assist working poor families, individuals, and seniors who are independent of any government-assisted programs. We also help military personnel from our area or those who are stationed in our area. The club’s priority has always been to help those from the W 7th area or who have a connection to the avenue. We will help individuals and families outside the W 7th area if they meet our criteria and funds are available. Our contacts for those we assist are first from our members, and then area schools and churches, the W 7th Community Center, some of the area’s businesses, and our military connections. If you don’t know the family or individual you are recommending, and you received names second hand, please save me the time and research them to make sure they meet our criteria.
Joe Fox says he will have 350 new bikes that will be given away on Friday, December 19th at the St Paul River Centre between 6:30 and 9pm. We will need lots of volunteers for that event. So, if you are interested, give me a call. Also, on Saturday Dec. 20, we will be delivering bikes from my house. I will need volunteers to deliver them also. Call me if you can help out on this date.
Bike assembly this year will be at Laborers Local 563. 620 12th Ave. So, Minneapolis, Mn. 55415. If you volunteered last year to put bikes together, you will be getting a call or email from Lori Struckman. For new volunteers, contact Lori:612-298-6105 or lori.struckman@northstarfinancial.com. Dates for assembling are Dec. 15-16-17-18.
